Does anyone ever get that longing to just sling a load of kit in the back of the car and escape everything for a day or two...?
I'm glad it's not just me then...
However, with responsibilities and commitments (family, work and life in general) the practicalities of seeing this notion through are often very slim at this moment in time. Thus, resulting in most of my current adventures being closer to home.
That urge to just drive up the M1 and M6 and arrive in the sleepy, picturesque village of Beddgelert (none other than the home of Rupert Bear) is so overwhelming that some days I could be sat in a total daydream imagining I am nearing the summit of Yr Wyddfa breathing in that sweet, glorious and fresh, moist mountain air.
For me, Snowdonia is that ultimate escape from the daily grind of life. Sitting on the edge of a mountain side looking across at one of God's most finest creations can bring out one's inner peace in one deep breath.
There is no other view comparable to that of a clear day at the top of a mountain and the realisation of how insignificantly small you are on this planet we call Earth; but at the same time it opens our eyes as to what a beautiful world we have around us - you only have to get outside, open your eyes and get away from it all!
